Nice to meet you.
Goldie Gareza was born in East Los Angeles, grew up in New York City, and after almost 30 years, is back in her hometown, doing standup comedy.
Don’t be jealous of Goldie’s career. She appeared on four seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” without saying a single word. But she didn’t let that success go to her head, like the time she was named “best waitress” by some guy in 1996. As a waitress, she frequently sought answers to questions like "how do you like your eggs?" (she likes hers fertilized) and “white, wheat, English muffin, rye, or bagel?”
Rumor has it that she finished a DJ set while in labor, then gave birth to her son in a quick 34 minutes—the stuff of legends.
Her less-than-lucrative side hustle is teaching seniors to dance to the Spice Girls and showing them how to use their cell phones in selfie mode. It doesn’t get much bigger than that. Finally, if you’re a casting director, Goldie is whatever race you want her to be.
